Lately, a beautiful rhythm has been unfolding around our home. Rain and lightning arrive through the night, washing the land and releasing the charge that has gathered. By morning, the clouds have often cleared, revealing blue sky and sunlight. It feels as though the world has been cleansed overnight and a brand-new day has been quietly loaded into place.
Each morning, we are offered the same choice. We can awaken and draw yesterday forward—reloading its worries, patterns, and unfinished stories—or we can meet the day as the clean field it truly is. The past may still hold wisdom, but it does not need to become the architecture of today. Perhaps the morning light is reminding us: the field has opened again, and we are free to choose what we bring into it.
Invocation for a New Day
I open the doorway to this day with gratitude.
May I meet what is before me with clarity, courage, and grace.
May the right people, choices, ideas, and opportunities find their way to me.
May I release yesterday and walk forward unburdened.
I choose the path of greatest harmony, highest good, and least harm.
I welcome joy, meaningful connection, clear guidance, and unexpected beauty.
May this day reveal the best that is available to me,
and may I be fully present to receive it.
The doorway is open.
The light is here.
I step through.
